Třinecké železárny has put the round bar surface shot blast machine to operation

Trinecke zelezarny has recently put the new facility blasting the surface of round bars into operation. This facility is located on light section and wire rod mill. It is used to remove scales from the surface of round bars of diameter from 30 to 80 mm before straightening and subsequent surface defects control. The investment amounted to more than CZK 11 million.

The new line replaced the original one, which was in operation for more than 30 years and was not sufficient for the recent requirements. " The new facility meets the current requirements of customers on the surface quality of bars. This machine is also equipped with the up to date dust collecting unit, meeting the demanding environmental requirements," said Mr. Jan Czudek, the Investment Director. "The main supplier of the equipment including de-dusting was an Italian company Carlo Banfi. The equiepment had to be tailor-made, due to its location between the grinding center and straightener at the finishing line No. 2," he said.

In recent years, the investment policy of the Trinecke zelezarny – Moravia Steel Group has increasingly focused on reconstruction of production facilities and introduction of up-to-date and environmental projects to improve the environment. Since 1997, TŽ has invested more than CZK 13 billion, while over CZK 4 billion directed only to environmental projects. Last year, the company invested CZK 1.01 billion, while the largest event was the modernization of the winding line "Garret" for winding coils at the light section mill.
